Away with weeds
Weeds can be described as being narrow-leafed (grasses), broad-leafed or woody. Large weeds can be easily removed by hand, but the use of a herbicide can eliminate hours of arduous weeding.

Herbicides are colour coded purple in the Efekto range.

The selection and application of herbicides must be done with extreme care. A broadleafed weed cannot be sprayed with a broad-leaf herbicide if it is surrounded by broad-leafed shrubs — the application will obviously affect all nearby broad-leafed
plants unless they are shielded from the spray. However, broad-leafed weeds in a grass or lawn area are effectively controlled with a broad-leaf herbicide as the lawn or grass is not affected.

How herbicides work:

There are two types of herbicides:
Selective herbicides selectively control certain types of weed plants, either broad-leafed weeds or grass-like weeds. Examples are HORMOBAN APM, TURFWEEDER APM, BANWEED MCPA, and NO WEED LAWN RTU. Products containing APM salt are less volatile and therefore limit drifting to an extent.

Non-selective herbicides control and kill all plant types with which it comes into contact. Examples are ROUNDUP
®, and NO WEED PAVING RTU.

Always add a wetter like G49 or Insure to spraymix to ensure proper coverage.
Choose the correct herbicide
Selecting the correct herbicide for your purposes is the key to success.
