MayFord Seeds (Pty) Ltd grew out of C May & Co which was founded in 1931. Over the years the company developed a diverse portfolio including seed production, packet seed, vegetable, forage, turf and flower seed, vegetable breeding programs and specialised products for the home garden industry. Trial grounds were acquired in 1947 outside Johannesburg, with plant breeding having been started in 1965. 1973 saw the introduction of the revolutionary and very successful hermetically sealed garden seed packets.
A decade later, and an important milestone, MayFord's highly sophisticated seed laboratory was officially recognised as a government approved seed testing station. All the products can be seen on the Mayford Website, as well as order forms and catalogues.

Easy Grow vertically stackable growing pots are manufactured locally and are used where space is a problem or where the maximisation of yields is the target. They can be stacked up to 6 layers high unsupported and up to 9 layers with supports. The system conserves water as each layer is fed by the water from the pot above resulting in lower production costs.
By having the growing pots stacked, access to the plants is easier, more efficient and it takes less time to harvest. Your plants are also protected from rodents and other leaf eating critters.
The grow pots can be moved easily resulting in the maximisation of land usage and maximum yield. Pots can also be used as hanging pots where floor space is an issue.
